Underarm Sweating – Home Remedies
Underarm sweating is a completely natural mechanism in the human body. This helps us to regulate our body temperature, especially if we are physically active, such as when training or when it’s hot.
However, if underarm sweating becomes too intense, it may reveal an underlying problem. Fortunately, there is a solution to this and we can get rid of this problem naturally.
It turns out that there are over 2 million sweat glands in our body. They start to work when it is hot, when we are engaged in physical activity, or when we are stressed out, for example. This helps to keep the body temperature in balance and free the body of toxins.
At the very beginning, the sweat has no smell whatsoever. It occurs when the secretion of the sweat glands comes into contact with bacteria on our skin that break it down.

Homemade antiperspirant for underarm sweating
Deodorants usually help us deal with the problem of unpleasant odors, but they do not always remove underarm sweating. An antiperspirant is necessary for this problem. The good news is that we can make it ourselves in our own home.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup of baking soda (75 g)
- 1/2 cup of cornmeal (75 g)
- 4 tablespoons of coconut oil (60 g)
- 10 drops of essential oil (you can choose your favorite one)
A method of preparing
- First, combine baking soda with cornmeal in a properly prepared container.
- Then add the coconut oil and blend until you get a smooth paste.
- Put it in the fridge for a few hours to harden it a bit.
- You can use this paste as an underarm antiperspirant.
Vinegar and lavender water
The blend of these two ingredients is a liquid deodorant – very effective to end the problem of excessive underarm sweating. It also helps to get rid of the unpleasant odor associated with it.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup of vinegar (125 ml)
- 1 cup of lavender or rosemary water (250 ml)
A method of preparing
- Mix both ingredients together in a container with an airtight closure.
- Shake the canister every day for seven days so that the ingredients of this natural deodorant combine thoroughly.
- After this time, you can start using the deodorant.
Clogged skin pores and peeling
Sometimes excessive underarm sweating is caused by clogged skin pores. In order for our skin to breathe freely, it is good to use natural exfoliants.
- One of the best home exfoliants is plain oatmeal, lemon juice, sea salt, and coffee grounds.
- We can choose any of the mentioned products or use them in any combination. Rub them into the skin where it sweats the most, and then rinse it off. We perform the procedure twice a week.
- If you decide to undergo a treatment with lemon juice, it is worth avoiding subsequent exposure to the sun, as it may cause stains on the skin.
Steam baths
This type of bathing can help us remove the problem of the accumulation of toxins in our body. It turns out that this is what often causes excessive underarm sweating.
- What’s more, steam bathing also relaxes the body and mind, which in turn reduces the concentration of the stress hormone in our body.
- However, it should be remembered that a steam bath is a procedure only for adults who are in good health.
Talc as a remedy for underarm sweating
You can also make good use of a product such as talc. Its many functions include, for example, the absorption of underarm sweat and the elimination of bacteria that cause unpleasant odors.
- If you want to make your own homemade talcum powder, you can use cornmeal and a good essential oil.
- Apply it to armpits after bathing or showering.
