We do not recommend consuming the essential oil directly, although some people use it as a remedy for constipation.

What is almond oil used for?

As we mentioned above, almond oil is not an edible product, so it can only be used externally, unless otherwise stated on the bottle. For this reason, always pay attention to what type of product you are buying.

It is mainly used for skin and beauty care. It can replace cosmetics used to eliminate skin problems such as eczema or acne.

Almond oil is also one of the ingredients used in the production of balms and hair care products.

Using almond oil for massage can lower stress, calm the nerves, and reduce anxiety. Plus, the oil is great for minor skin problems like dry skin or cold sores.

The oil also helps reduce itching, thereby protecting the skin and making it smoother. It is also used to treat psoriasis and dermatitis as it soothes itching and reduces pain and swelling.

What are the other benefits of almond oil?

It has a beneficial effect on the hair

Almond oil is an excellent product for people struggling with dry hair, because it provides the hair with a fresh look and shine almost immediately. Due to the high content of oleic fatty acids, it also prevents baldness.

In addition, due to the high content of vitamin E, it noticeably improves the health of the scalp, so we recommend using it in the case of dandruff or seborrheic dermatitis.

In order to properly use almond oil, it  is enough to pour a few drops on your hand after the bath and apply to the hair, starting with the scalp and ending with the ends of the hair. You can also use it as a conditioner by leaving it on your hair for a few minutes and then rinsing it with lukewarm water.

An excellent product for the skin

As we mentioned in the previous paragraphs, almond oil treats various skin conditions, especially eczema and acne. It owes these possibilities to the high content of fatty acids, which are ideal for moisturizing the skin.

When applied in a circular motion, almond oil can also stimulate blood circulation in the network of blood vessels under the skin. This keeps the skin in good condition, thus making it look young, smooth and radiant.

Moreover,  almond oil contains vitamin E, which is an excellent antioxidant that has a beneficial effect on the overall appearance of the skin.

Removal of stretch marks and wrinkles

One of the most common skin problems is stretch marks. They most often appear after childbirth, while shedding unnecessary kilograms and during adolescence.

Almond oil is an excellent home remedy for stretch marks because it helps regenerate skin tissue, resulting in smoother and more hydrated skin. This action is due to the high content of fatty acids and vitamin E.

Almond oil noticeably reduces wrinkles on the face and neck

When used regularly, it is able to combat expression lines.

To increase its effectiveness, mix one tablespoon of the essential oil with a capsule of vitamin E (available, for example, in natural products stores) and apply this mixture to dry and clean skin, spreading it in circular motions once a day.

In order to reduce wrinkles, we recommend spreading one drop of almond oil around the eyes and on the skin of the forehead and gently massaging it in.
